Course Description

This course will teach on how to conduct an “Initial Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) Evaluation” and four month follow-up “Program Plan Update”, including interviews with the referring SLP and parent, with an almost four-year-old child with the diagnosis of a multiple articulation disorder characterized by an inter-dental production of bilabial, tongue-tip sounds and Structural Open Bite.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of this course, the participant will be able to:

1. Therapists will be able to complete an “Initial Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) Evaluation
for Feeding and Speech.”
2. Therapists will apply their newly learned skills to conduct a “Program Plan Update.”
3. Therapists will be able to complete a program plan including: Sensory, Oral Phase
Feeding, OPT and Speech techniques.
4. Therapists will learn how to Apply OPT activities in conjunction with traditional speech
therapy to improve speech clarity
