Course Description

This video course will teach on how to conduct an “Initial Oral Placement Therapy (OPT)
Evaluation” and four month follow-up “Program Plan Update”, including interviews with the referring SLP and parent, with a six-year-old child with the diagnosis of multiple articulation disorder with lateral production of /s/ and /z/.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of this course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Therapists will be able to complete an “Initial Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) Evaluation for Feeding and Speech.”
  2. Therapists will be able to apply the skills learned in this course to conduct a “Program Plan Update.”
  3. Therapists will be able to complete a program plan including: Sensory, Oral Phase
    Feeding, OPT and Speech techniques.
  4. Therapists will be able to apply OPT activities in conjunction with traditional speech
    therapy to improve speech clarity.

  • 105-140 min: Watch the video of the Program Plan Update with written Program Plan
