Course Description
This course will teach how to conduct an “Initial Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) Evaluation” and four month follow-up “Program Plan Update”, including interviews with the referring SLP and parent, with a six-year-old child with the diagnosis of inter-dental and lateral production of /s/, /z/, /∫/ (sh) and /t∫/ (ch) and “j”.
Learning Outcomes
As a result of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Therapists will be able to complete an “Initial Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) Evaluation for Feeding and Speech.”
- Therapists will be able to apply the skills learned in this course to conduct a “Program
Plan Update.” - Therapists will be able to complete a program plan including: Sensory, Oral Phase
Feeding, OPT and Speech techniques. - Therapists will be able to apply OPT activities in conjunction with traditional speech therapy to improve speech clarity.
