TalkTools® Itsy Cup™

TalkTools® Itsy™ Cup Set

TalkTools® Itsy™ Cup Set

The TalkTools® Itsy™ Cup Set is an all-in-one therapeutic cup designed to support the transition from caregiver-led drinking to self-directed straw drinking to independent open-cup drinking. Developed by speech-language pathologist and occupational therapist teams and inspired by TalkTools® founder Sara Rosenfeld Johnson, this cup is inclusive by design, addressing the needs of children with sensory, neurological, physical, or developmental differences alongside typically developing children.

Therapy Goals

  • Support the transition from caregiver-led drinking to self-directed straw and open-cup drinking
  • Encourage bilateral coordination and stability for emerging self-feeders
  • Reduce spills while building drinking independence through supportive cup components
  • Provide optional sensory input through a dual-ended straw with ruffled texture
  • Support early straw skills and lip control using the included flange and shorter straw length
  • Four-component system (cup, lid, straw, flange) customizable to each child's current drinking skills and developmental stage
  • Sloped lid supports open-cup drinking with minimal spills via an ergonomically angled opening that eliminates excessive neck extension
  • Dual-handled cup body encourages bilateral coordination and stability for emerging self-feeders
  • 5 oz. liquid capacity with 1-oz volume lines supports precise measurement for clinical or dietary monitoring
  • Dual-ended straw with sensory ruffles on one end provides optional additional proprioceptive input
  • Shorter straw length facilitates self-drinking for children at early straw skill stages
  • Flange functions as a lip block to reduce spills and enables liquid pumping for straw skill progression
  • Made from LFGB Platinum grade silicone exceeding FDA standards
  • Infants and toddlers transitioning from breast or bottle to cup and straw drinking
  • Children with sensory processing disorders, oral motor difficulties, or feeding challenges
  • Children with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, or neurological differences affecting feeding
