TalkTools® Itsy Plate™

TalkTools® Itsy Plate™

The TalkTools® Itsy Plate™ is a silicone adaptive plate designed to support the transition from caregiver-assisted feeding to self-feeding in infants and young children, including those with sensory, neurological, or developmental differences. Developed and tested by speech-language pathologist and occupational therapist teams, it offers the structure and accessibility needed to build mealtime independence. The Itsy Plate is part of the TalkTools Itsy Collection, the most comprehensive feeding platform for promoting self-feeding.

Therapy Goals

  • Support the development of independent self-feeding skills through adaptive plate design suited to infants and young children
  • Facilitate sensory exploration of varied food textures and flavors in a structured, contained mealtime environment
  • Promote sequential eating and food acceptance for selective or sensory-sensitive eaters using compartmentalized sections
  • Build fine motor control and hand-to-utensil coordination during mealtime activities
  • Encourage engagement with food through visual volume lines and tactile plate features that support caregiver-guided feeding goals
  • Symmetrical circular design resembles a standard plate and can be rotated for sequential access to each food section
  • Four open triangular compartments accommodate selective eaters who need foods kept separate, as well as exploratory eaters who enjoy mixing and matching
  • Volume measurement lines allow caregivers to portion food easily and consistently at each meal
  • Curved walls assist scooping for children developing utensil skills
  • Strong suction base anchors the plate to high chair trays, reducing spills and unwanted plate movement
  • Sized to fit all standard high chair trays
  • Made from LFGB Platinum grade silicone exceeding FDA standards, free from BPA, BPS, PVC, and phthalates
  • Infants and toddlers developing self-feeding skills and mealtime independence
  • Children with sensory processing differences who benefit from food separation and structured portions
  • Children with neurological or developmental differences, including autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy
  • Children with feeding aversions or selective eating patterns
